The first week of school has ended (more like first two days) after a loooong break. Enrollment was pretty stressful for me. True, I finished mine in three hours, but in those three hours, I was on a roller coaster of emotion;

July 2014 BMM Log
I did a lot of reading this month. Probably to make up for the fact that I’m returning to school at the start of August. By then it would be a different kind of reading.
.
Books
"Three Shadows". Published by First Second Books, Three Shadows is a graphic novel by Cyril Pedrosa. I read this upon the recommendation of Sanne of booksandquills. I recommend you read this as well.

I’m back!
Things have been pretty hectic lately but I’m here now. Here’s my June 2014 books, music, and movies favorites.

Books
Welcome to Hoxford. I saw the cover in a bookshop and was immediately interested. Judging from the cover, this isn’t for the faint of heart. The graphics are superb - they’re done by Ben Templesmith. This comic prompted me to look for other graphic novels done by Templesmith, leading me to…

Not much going in in this month’s log. I’m gonna post it anyway.

“How the Best Leaders Lead" by Brian Tracy. I got this as a gift for someone else but I read it anyway. Worthy read even for non-business or managerial people.

One month late but who cares?
Here’s the BMM’s (books, movies, music) that I read, watched, listened to, and liked last April 2014.

Books
”The Witches" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. I make it a point to read at least one work from different genres. I’m currently on a children’s stories streak. My other authors-to-read from other genres are Ray Bradbury, HP Lovecraft, and Stephen King.

I wanna read this book!
After her mother died, Glory retreated into herself and her music. Her single father raised her as a piano prodigy, with a rigid schedule and the goal of playing sold-out shows across the globe. Now, as a teenager, Glory has disappeared. As we flash back to the events leading up to her disappearance, we see a girl on the precipice of disaster. Brilliant and lonely, Glory is drawn to an artistic new boy, Frank, who moves in next door. The farther she falls, the deeper she spirals into madness. Before long, Glory is unable to play anything but the song “Chopsticks.”
But nothing is what it seems, and Glory’s reality is not reality at all. In this stunningly moving novel told in photographs, pictures, and words, it’s up to the reader to decide what is real, what is imagined, and what has been madness all along….
