Had flashcards ready, but nothing beats good ol’ legal pad. Apparently, I study better on a pink one with red ink. #weird Whatever works for you, go with it. || #studytips #college #collegetips #ss

My Five-product School Face

Okay, I won’t actually show you my face but I will show you the products.
  1. Belo Sun Expert SPF 40 for the Face. SPF is important, a lot of people will tell you that. Since I tend to have pigmentation from healed blemishes, wearing SPF keeps them from darkening. This one from Belo is hypoallergenic and non-greasy.

What's in My Makeup Bag?

Since my school days are long (whose isn’t?), I bring some things to freshen me up, counteract any allergies, and keep me groomed (especially since my PE is in the afternoons).
  1. Sebamed moisturizing lotion. The only lotion that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
  2. Xylitol Berry-flavored gum. I prefer mints but couldn’t find Smints, so this will do. It’s sugarless and supposedly helps against cavities. The berry flavor kinda tastes like medicine, but I like it.

Scheduling Tips

I mentioned here and here that I have a schedule and I use a planner for organization. Even with those, it’s not that easy to set an efficient schedule, especially with all the things going on.
So here are my three tips to organize effectively in college:
1. Prioritize. Answer these questions: Are all your tasks worth doing? What is the goal accomplished by a task? Is that goal immediately important?

LBD

I hardly wear dresses, if at all. I’m just not comfortable with them since I commute. Not to say, though, that I don’t like wearing them. Give me the right situation and I’ll gladly don one.
It just so happens I need to wear a dress in the near future. I haven’t found the perfect one yet (my criteria are very specific: black; tight-flare silhouette; preferably skater skirt; long sleeves; interesting neckline; and versatile - whew!), but these are close:

Weekly Wrap-up: August 11-17, 2014

So the second week of school is done. Has it only been the second week? I feel like the semester’s already in full gear.
This week, I wasn’t as focused as I wanted to be. I had a plan that I’d devot 100% on my schoolwork from Tuesday to Friday (my school days), with homework days on Saturdays and Mondays. I’d only take a break and have “me” time on Sundays. Harsh schedule, I know, but necessary with all the course load and my OC-ness. I might give myself some slack later, we’ll see.

Back to School 2014

The first week of school has ended (more like first two days) after a loooong break. Enrollment was pretty stressful for me. True, I finished mine in three hours, but in those three hours, I was on a roller coaster of emotion;

July 2014 BMM Log

I did a lot of reading this month. Probably to make up for the fact that I’m returning to school at the start of August. By then it would be a different kind of reading.

"Three Shadows". Published by First Second Books, Three Shadows is a graphic novel by Cyril Pedrosa. I read this upon the recommendation of Sanne of booksandquills. I recommend you read this as well.

I’m back!
Things have been pretty hectic lately but I’m here now. Here’s my June 2014 books, music, and movies favorites.

Welcome to Hoxford. I saw the cover in a bookshop and was immediately interested. Judging from the cover, this isn’t for the faint of heart. The graphics are superb - they’re done by Ben Templesmith. This comic prompted me to look for other graphic novels done by Templesmith, leading me to…
