I went out today intending to buy some new comfy shoes. I needed something closed with soft soles since I walk a lot between classes and wearing open-toed sandals leaves me with grimy feet at the end of the day.
Problem is, I have a hard time finding closed shoes because of my tendency to have ingrown toenails. The only closed shoes that I have right now are boots that have roomy toes but hard soles.
I was thinking of buying some rubber shoes (since they’re usually the go-to for walking) and tried on some, but the toes were always a problem. Then I remembered insoles and gel cushions.
These are from Watsons for about P198 per pack (even the full insoles), with one pair of gel cushions in one pack and two pairs of insoles in the other. The gel cushions are a god-send. I already tried them with my sandals and the difference is fantastic. I’ve yet to try the insoles for my boots but that’s to follow. Application is a breeze as the cushions have an adhesive backing. You just peel it off like a sticker and stick it on.
With these, I didn’t even have to buy new shoes, saving me money and space (in my closet). Also, with summer nearing (can you feel the heat?!), it might not be practical to buy another pair of closed shoes to wear in the sweltering heat.
So there. If you ever have a problem with painful feet from hard-soled shoes, try insoles and gel cushions. It will change your life (ha, dramatic :P ).
