Health Heroes: Items to Keep Healthy and Fit

Remember my post yesterday about me being out of shape? Well, I'm really serious about getting back into shape. So here are some of the things I'm currently using (or would like to use :P ) to keep healthy:

Health Heroes

Seven App. I featured this in my What's in my iPhone post. It's basically and exercise app that guides you through a 7-minute (or more, if you want) exercise every day. It goes from light to heavy and levels can be unlocked as long as you stick to your schedule and keep exercising every day.


I think it's a fantastic concept. You get to move your body everyday and you only need to devote 7 minutes. It's better than not moving at all, right?

Walking. Here in UPD, walking is a part of life. I think some freshies are actually surprised at how far the buildings are. Hehe, welcome to UP.

Walking (or running, if you prefer - we have an Acad Oval for runners) is great especially if you have a heavy bag (who doesn't?). For a couple of minutes a day, you get to sweat it out or at least get your heart pumping even a little. For that, you need comfy footwear (good luck wearing heels in UP). I haven't personally tried FitFlops (I still have my oh-so-comfy white footwear that's similar to Crocs) but they're on my wishlist. I'm lemming for their Banda sandals.

Yoga. I think Yoga is not just for physical health but for mental as well. It helps you relax, clear your mind, and just be grounded.

I'm thinking of starting soon and, among all the yoga studios I've searched, I'm zeroing in on White Space Katipunan since the package rates and the location are good.

Jawbone UP. I saw this on Carly's post (I LOVE her!) and I think it's fantastic. It's definitely helpful especially for office workers who barely get to stand up and move around during the day.

TinyTea. I am DEFINITELY trying this. It promises detoxification, increased metabolism, and higher energy levels without laxative-like effects. It's based in the US but it's also available from Healthy Ideas PH.

Of course, even with all these, one must not forget proper diet and water intake. How about you, what are the health heroes that keep you fit?
